Getting everyone online is the easy part: the router your provider ships does that on its own. The work is everything else — the customer Wi-Fi that ends up on the same network as the till, the cabinet with a tangle nobody can read any more, the card machine that stops when the line goes down, remote working improvised by "opening a port" on the router. A business network is not a home network with more sockets: it's the difference between a hiccup and a day's takings lost.
Turnkey here means something precise: a survey done on the floor plan, network cabinet and cabling tidy and labelled, a firewall at the perimeter with written rules, Wi-Fi covering the places where people actually work, a guest network kept away from till and management software, VPN access for whoever works remotely and — where it's needed — a backup line that takes over by itself when the main one drops. At handover we test it all together, and the network documentation stays with you: diagram, addresses, credentials of every device. Your network, documented, belongs to you — not to us.
The typical formula is the turnkey project: a fixed quote, free and clear before we start, including what you don't actually need. Later tweaks are billed per job, by the hour; if you want the network looked after over time, that's an ongoing support agreement, priced case by case in the quote. And the boundaries are honest: trunking and light cable runs yes; chasing walls, back boxes and anything mains-electrical belong to your licensed electrician — and the line contract stays between you and your provider. It's written in the quote, not discovered halfway through the job.
On a small network, a separate guest network buys more risk off the table per euro than anything else. In shopkeeper's terms: whoever joins the customer Wi-Fi gets to browse, but never sees the till, the management software, the printers or the cameras. On a first survey we almost always find the opposite — one single network, a stranger's phone and the cash register side by side: no sophisticated attack needed, an infected phone walking in with a coffee is enough. The separation is built from distinct logical networks over the same cables and the same hardware — they're called VLANs, you don't need to learn that — and each one sees only what it should. Business Wi-Fi is designed on the floor plan, not hoped for. You decide where coverage must be — counter, office, stockroom, outdoor tables — and that's where the access points go, cabled, under one network name your devices roam on their own. On security we invent nothing: we use WPA3, which the Wi-Fi Alliance states "is mandatory for Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices and includes additional capabilities specifically for personal and enterprise networks"; on the same page, WPA3-Enterprise users "can now take advantage of higher-grade security protocols for sensitive data networks". And Wi-Fi comes in generations — the body that "drives advancement and adoption of each generation of Wi-Fi®, such as Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6® and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7™" is the Wi-Fi Alliance itself — so kit is chosen by generation and coverage, not by the number of aerials. The network cabinet tells the truth about how a business is run. When it's an unlabelled tangle, every fault turns into an hour of archaeology billed to you: cables unplugged blind to find out where they went. Putting it right is concrete work — patch panel, cables labelled at both ends, devices properly mounted and powered, a diagram inside the door — and at the close the documentation is handed to you: network diagram, addresses, credentials for router, firewall and access points. It's the network version of the written report we close every job with — what was done, what to watch — and with it one simple rule: your company's admin accounts belong to your company, never a lever to keep you tied. On installation we're frank: trunking and light runs yes; chasing walls, back boxes and mains work are your licensed electrician's trade, and the quote says so.
The firewall is your network's boundary; the VPN is the gate in that boundary, with a key. At the perimeter we don't leave the provider's router on factory settings: we put in a firewall with written rules — what may come in, what may go out, what stays shut — documented in the diagram you keep. No box makes you invulnerable, and we won't tell you otherwise: a perimeter is there to shrink what's exposed and to notice trouble sooner. For working from outside, the right road is not "opening a port" on the router, the way improvised remote working does it: it's a VPN — an encrypted link that brings the laptop at home inside the office network, as if it were at its own desk — with personal accounts you switch off one by one when someone leaves.
Backup connectivity is sized on what must not stop — not on "everything". When the line goes down the damage isn't even: e-mail can wait an hour, the till and the card machine cannot. So the backup line — fixed wireless or 4G/5G, depending on what reaches your area — is chosen and tested to hold the till, payments and the agreed essentials, with the switchover happening on its own, nobody having to notice and reboot. On limits we're honest: a backup is narrower than the main line, and if you pile everything onto it, everything slows down. The connectivity contract stays between you and your provider: we help you choose, we don't resell lines.
