There is one figure on this model worth knowing before you get into trouble: the A16 is rated IP54, meaning splash resistant — it is not waterproof. It must not be submerged, it must not go in the shower, and in heavy rain it is not as safe as an A36 or an A56, which are IP67. On this model water is a serious problem.
The rest is a phone worth repairing. The panel is a 6.7" Super AMOLED at 90 Hz — less fluid than its bigger siblings at 120 Hz, but the AMOLED quality is all there. The 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W charging is generous and starts to fade after two or three years: a common repair, same day.
Two things work in your favour when it is opened: the fingerprint reader is capacitive and on the side, so a screen replacement does not touch it and nothing needs recalibrating. And there is still a microSD slot: if the phone will not start, the data on the card is still readable.
