The S23 is the S22 done properly: the same compact 6.1-inch format, but with 3,900 mAh instead of 3,700 and glass upgraded to Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back as well.
The difference shows on the bench: it comes in less for run time and more for drops. It is a phone that sits well in the hand, and for exactly that reason it slips out of a pocket easily.

The S23 panel is a 6.1" Dynamic AMOLED at 120 Hz with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It is a valuable component and the part reflects that: on this model the choice between original and compatible makes a price difference you can feel.
The thing to know before worrying too much is the same across the series: front and back are two separate parts. Many people arrive convinced they have to pay display money when they only broke the rear panel, which costs far less. That is part of what the diagnosis is for.
The 3,900 mAh battery with 25 W charging is more generous than the S22's, but cycles are cycles: after three years it starts to fade. A common repair, same day. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the panel is replaced with the display and has to be checked after fitting.
