Repair service for Samsung Galaxy S23

Repairing your Samsung Galaxy S23

The S23 is the S22 done properly: the same compact 6.1-inch format, but with 3,900 mAh instead of 3,700 and glass upgraded to Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back as well.

The difference shows on the bench: it comes in less for run time and more for drops. It is a phone that sits well in the hand, and for exactly that reason it slips out of a pocket easily.

Galaxy S23: a compact 120 Hz display and the bill for broken glass

The S23 panel is a 6.1" Dynamic AMOLED at 120 Hz with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It is a valuable component and the part reflects that: on this model the choice between original and compatible makes a price difference you can feel.

The thing to know before worrying too much is the same across the series: front and back are two separate parts. Many people arrive convinced they have to pay display money when they only broke the rear panel, which costs far less. That is part of what the diagnosis is for.

The 3,900 mAh battery with 25 W charging is more generous than the S22's, but cycles are cycles: after three years it starts to fade. A common repair, same day. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the panel is replaced with the display and has to be checked after fitting.

Frequently asked questions about the Galaxy S23

What is the difference between the S22 and the S23 for repair?
Little in method, more in the numbers: the S23 has a larger battery (3,900 against 3,700 mAh) and comes in less for run time. The rest — separate front and back glass, ultrasonic sensor under the display, seals to redo — is identical.
Does the display cost more than on a mid-range phone?
Yes. It is a 120 Hz AMOLED with the fingerprint sensor built in: a valuable component. Which is why on this model the choice between original and compatible weighs, and we put it to you before ordering.
The fingerprint reader is ultrasonic: does that change anything for repair?
Yes. Unlike the optical sensors on the A series, an ultrasonic reader reads the ridges of your finger through the glass: it is more accurate and works with a wet finger, but it is more sensitive to the thickness of the panel fitted over it. With an unsuitable part it misbehaves, and it is the first thing we check in the final test.
Is it still IP68 after opening?
We restore the water-resistance seals at every opening, but no workshop can re-certify factory IP68: the seal is restored as far as it can be, but it is no longer the one measured at the factory and the rating does not come back. We say so plainly.
Does it have wireless charging?
Yes, 15 W, and reverse wireless charging too, so you can top up earbuds or a watch by resting them on the back. The coil is a replaceable component if it stops working.
