The S22 is the Samsung flagship that reaches the bench most often today, and the reason is simple: it has been out of warranty for a while and the 3,700 mAh battery is starting to show.
It is a compact phone — 6.1 inches, 168 grams — and that has a side effect you notice on the bench: there is less room inside, so every job needs more care than it would on a large model.

The 3,700 mAh battery is this model's weak point, and not because it is faulty: it is simply the smallest of the series, fitted to a phone with a 120 Hz panel. After three or four years of cycles the run time drops noticeably, and it is by far the most requested repair on this model.
The second is the glass, and something needs saying here: the S22 is glass on the front and the back. A drop can break both sides, and those are two separate parts with two separate quotes. The back costs far less than the display: if you only broke that, the figure is nothing like the one you fear.
The fingerprint reader is ultrasonic and under the display: it is replaced together with the panel and has to be checked after fitting. And the S22 ships IP68, so after every opening the water-resistance seals have to be redone — an extra step that adds to the turnaround and one we do not skip.
