Repair service for Samsung Galaxy A26 5G

Repairing your Samsung Galaxy A26 5G

The A26 sits exactly at the right point of the range: it takes 120 Hz from its bigger siblings and keeps the microSD slot, which the A36 and A56 no longer have.

It is also the first of the series to move up to IP67: compared with the A16 that makes a real difference the day it gets caught in the rain.

Galaxy A26 5G: 120 Hz, microSD and IP67 — the best compromise in the series

On paper the A26 looks like a grown-up A16, and in part it is: the same 6.7" Super AMOLED, the same 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W charging. But it moves up to 120 Hz, and that changes how the phone feels every day.

The two things that matter for repair are elsewhere. First: the rating moves to IP67, so after every opening the water-resistance seals have to be redone. It is an extra step that adds to the turnaround, and one we do not skip — a phone closed back up without seals is no longer the phone you had.

Second: the fingerprint reader is capacitive, not under the screen. That means a screen replacement does not touch it and no recalibration is needed, unlike what happens on the A36 and A56. On the repair side that is an advantage, and it shows in the quote.

Frequently asked questions about the Galaxy A26 5G

What is the difference between the A26 and the A36 when it comes to repair?
The most important one is the fingerprint reader. On the A26 it is capacitive and separate from the display, so a screen swap does not touch it. On the A36 it sits under the panel: it is replaced together with the display and has to be recalibrated.
Is it still IP67 after the repair?
After every opening we restore the water-resistance seals, but no workshop can re-certify factory IP67: the seal is restored as far as it can be, but it is no longer the one measured at the factory and nobody reissues the original certification. We say so plainly.
Does it have wireless charging?
No, the A26 charges only over the USB-C cable. If it no longer charges, nine times out of ten the port is the problem: we try cleaning it first, then it may be replaced.
Can the microSD slot be replaced if it breaks?
Yes, the tray is a replaceable component. It does break from being forced or from a card going in crooked: we check it at the diagnosis stage.
Is the display replaced together with the glass?
Yes. On these models the panel and the glass are a single assembly and are replaced together: there is no front-glass-only part.
