The Galaxy Tab A9+ is the Android tablet people buy for the house: eleven inches, a modest price, and bought in numbers because of it. It is the homework tablet, the cartoons tablet, the video-call-to-grandparents tablet.
It is also one of the few left with a headphone jack, and on a tablet used by children that matters more than it sounds.
Free diagnostics. It is an inexpensive tablet, so the real question is always: is it worth repairing?
Four questions and we tell you the likely repair. Then you message us with the problem already written in.
Messaging us on WhatsApp shares your number and what you tell us: we use them only to reply and prepare your quote. How we handle your data.
The panel is an 11-inch TFT LCD at 90 Hz, not an AMOLED. For whoever repairs it that is good news: a replacement LCD costs a fraction of an AMOLED, and on a tablet in this class it is often the difference between “worth repairing” and “not worth it”. We do the sums together before ordering, and if they do not add up we say so: on an inexpensive tablet that happens, and we would rather tell you than have you spend for nothing.
It has the 3.5 mm jack, something now gone from high-end tablets. On a device that ends up in children's hands it is a port that fills with everything, and that gets damaged by a plug pushed in crooked. Before talking about replacing it we clean it and retry, during diagnosis, free of charge.
The battery is 7,040 mAh with 15 W charging, and there are three versions: Wi-Fi, LTE and 5G. The versions with mobile connectivity have a nano-SIM tray — a mechanical part that simply does not exist on the Wi-Fi versions. When you write to us, telling us which one you have saves a round trip.
