The fingerprint reader is on the side, built into the button. That is the difference that matters most against the Tab S11: there the reader is optical and sits under the panel, so replacing the display also replaces the reader. Here it does not. Replacing the display on this tablet does not touch biometric unlock, and that keeps the quote simpler and lower.
The panel is a 10.9-inch IPS LCD at 90 Hz, with charging up to 45 W on an 8,000 mAh battery. Fast charging runs warm, and heat is what wears batteries out: on a tablet used every day with the powerful charger, the battery starts asking for attention sooner. That is physiology, not a fault, and it is a job that gets done.
This tablet is IP68 rated, and that is rare: most tablets carry no rating at all. It means two opposite things. The first is good: a fall in water is not automatically a death sentence. The second is a rule of ours and we always say it — once a device has been opened, the seal is restored but the rating is not. We fit new adhesive and gaskets and the tablet goes back to shrugging off splashes as best it can, but nobody can re-certify it. A promise along the lines of “it stays waterproof just like before” cannot be verified by anyone: be wary of it.
