The Galaxy Tab S9 is high-end Android: an 11-inch AMOLED at 120 Hz, aluminium frame and back, S Pen in the box and IP68.
It is also the tablet where a display replacement brings a second component with it, because the fingerprint reader sits under the panel.

The panel is an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 120 Hz, and it is the most expensive component you can replace on a Samsung tablet. An AMOLED that size flexes: it has to be handled accordingly, on the way out and even more on the way back in. It is not a job to rush, and we do not rush it.
The fingerprint reader is optical and sits under the display. That means replacing the panel also replaces the reader: they are the same part. It is the main difference from the FE models, where the reader sits in the side button and stays put. It shows up on a quote, and it has to be explained beforehand.
This tablet is IP68 rated, and that is rare: most tablets carry no rating at all. It means two opposite things. The first is good: a fall in water is not automatically a death sentence. The second is a rule of ours and we always say it — once a device has been opened, the seal is restored but the rating is not. We fit new adhesive and gaskets and the tablet goes back to shrugging off splashes as best it can, but nobody can re-certify it. A promise along the lines of “it stays waterproof just like before” cannot be verified by anyone: be wary of it.
