Repair service for Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G

Repairing your Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G was third among the sub-300-euro phones most searched for by Italians in 2024, according to the Trovaprezzi observatory: the first time a Redmi made the podium. Today it is exactly the right age to turn up in the workshop.

And it is the only Xiaomi on this list with a real glass back, not plastic. That is its typical repair.

Free diagnostics. First thing we check: whether it is the 5G or the 4G. They are not the same phone.

Not sure what is broken?

Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G: a glass back, IP54, and a 4G twin that shares nothing

The back is glass, and that is the difference you see in the workshop: this phone breaks at the back where other Redmis merely scratch. Replacing the back housing is the model's typical job, and the glass has to be heated and cut, not levered — that is how you avoid taking the frame with it.

Sealing is IP54, not IP68: dust and splashes yes, immersion no. On a phone with a 400-euro list price that is surprising, and it has to be said plainly: if it ends up in water, that is real liquid damage. Do not switch it on, do not put it on charge, bring it in as soon as possible. The Note 14 Pro, the generation after, does have full IP68.

Watch out for one thing that matters more than anything else on this model: in Italy the Redmi Note 13 Pro was sold in two versions, 4G and 5G, and they are not the same phone. Different display resolution, different glass, different back material, different tray: the parts are not interchangeable. Before ordering anything we have to establish which of the two you have, and we do that at the diagnosis stage — you do not need to know.

Frequently asked questions about the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G

How do I know whether I have the 4G or the 5G?
You do not need to know: we identify it during diagnosis, from the model code and the panel. It is the first thing we check, though, because ordering the 5G display for a 4G means throwing a part away — they have different resolutions and do not fit in each other's place.
The back glass is broken: does it cost as much as the display?
No, far less. They are two different parts and the back housing costs a fraction of the panel. On this model it is also the most frequent repair, precisely because the back is glass rather than the plastic used on other Redmis.
I was told it is waterproof: is that true?
No. This model is IP54, which covers dust and splashes but not immersion. The confusion comes from the next generation, the Note 14 Pro, which does have IP68. If yours ended up in water, treat it as real liquid damage.
If the display is replaced, do I lose the fingerprint reader?
On this model the reader is optical and sits under the panel, so it is replaced together with the display: you do not lose it, it changes with it. It is, however, why the display here costs more than on a phone with the reader in the side button.
Will I lose data during the repair?
Storage is a component of its own and the job does not touch it. But on a device that has to be opened nobody can promise you a hundred per cent. We still always ask you to back up first. It applies to every device, and it is the one thing that protects you if something goes wrong.
