Repair service for Apple iPhone 15

Repairing your Apple iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 is the one that changed port: Lightning out, USB-C in. It is also the first base model to get the Dynamic Island in place of the notch.

The new port has already made itself known on the bench: the USB-C connector collects pocket lint exactly as Lightning did, and a fair share of “it won't charge any more” is solved with a clean, not a part.

Free diagnostics and a quote before we proceed: if a clean is enough, we clean it.

iPhone 15: USB-C, Dynamic Island and colour-infused glass

The move to USB-C is the change you can see, and it arrived by European regulation before it arrived by choice. For repair little changes in substance: the port is still a separate flex, it can be replaced, and as always we first check that it is not simply dirty. The port sits in a pocket all day and lint compacts at the bottom.

The Dynamic Island replaces the notch on the base model too. It houses the same TrueDepth assembly, so the same rule applies as on other recent iPhones — Face ID transfers to the new display, but if the module is damaged there is no part available to independent workshops.

The back is colour-infused glass, not painted: the colour is in the material. Nice to look at, and it keeps the repairable structure introduced with the 14 — the rear panel is still an independent part.

Frequently asked questions about the iPhone 15

Does the USB-C port break more easily than Lightning?
No, but it gets just as dirty. Many “it won't charge” cases are compacted lint at the bottom of the port: we try cleaning it first and only replace the connector if it is genuinely worn.
Can I use any USB-C cable?
For charging, yes. For fast charging and full-speed data transfer you need a suitable cable: if it seems to charge slowly, before blaming the phone try a different cable and power adapter.
Is the back glass replaced on its own?
Yes. The iPhone 15 keeps the structure introduced with the 14: the rear panel is independent, so the job is far less invasive than on a 12 or a 13.
Will the “non-genuine display” notice appear?
With a non-original part, yes, iOS shows that notice in settings. It does not affect how the phone or the screen work. If you want to avoid it the route is an original part, with the cost that comes with it: the choice is yours and we put it to you beforehand.
Will I lose the data on my phone?
Hardware replacements do not touch storage. The backup still has to be done: on a device that has to be opened nobody can guarantee you a hundred per cent. We still recommend a backup before any job, as a precaution.
