A nicer screen, thinner bezels, a full-width stand. And one difference you only pay for when something breaks: here the glass is fused to the panel.
On a standard Switch, cracked glass with a good picture is a cheap repair. On the OLED the very same damage means replacing the whole screen assembly, and iFixit warns the panel is fragile and can break during removal.
That is not a reason to leave it broken: it is a reason to know the quote first. Free diagnostics.

The iFixit guide says it without ambiguity: on the Switch OLED the screen is «a glass cover that's fused to an OLED display». There is no glass-only part for this model, and the same guide warns that «there's a significant chance that you may break the unreinforced and fragile display panel during this procedure».
Everything else is the same console improved. Bezels are about 40% thinner and the screen grew from 6.2 to 7 inches in a body just 3 mm wider. The kickstand is no longer a narrow flap but a full-width hinged panel that opens to any angle.
The USB-C port is still soldered, with the same meaning as always: board-level repair. iFixit sells an OLED-specific part, distinct from the Switch and Lite ones.
Fan, heatsink and thermal paste are all there and need the same care. Servicing recommended every 18–24 months.
